The story of V.I. OSIPOV (head of the OTC, Kondopoga Woodworking Plant):
My house is next to the railway, so I always wake up after passing the train.
That time, I woke up at about 4:15 a.m. or a little earlier. As usual, I got up and went to the window to see what the weather was like. I must say that the weather was clear, the sun had not yet risen and only in the place where it rises there were small clouds, so like a haze.
Almost immediately it caught my eye, a ball was shining above the horizon. Later I was told that it was the Moon, but I remember well that the Moon was slightly to the right of the place where the ball was and was incomplete.
The balloon was almost level (slightly higher) with the horizon (the observation was conducted from the third floor of the house. The ball was approximately at the height of a 5-centimeter stick on an outstretched arm). The body was almost of a regular spherical shape and only towards the bottom it seemed to blur, became indistinct. The color was smooth, about yellow-gray with a pink tinge. It glowed quite faintly, but it was visible quite well in the sky, immediately striking.
The size of the ball was very large, I had never seen such, I was even scared at first: about the size of a fist on an outstretched arm and it contained
approximately 6-7 diameters of the Sun (to be more precise, a 7-centimeter circle on the
at a distance of 26 cm from the eye).I watched the balloon for a few minutes, and then went to wash my face. When I thought about him again and wanted to take a picture of him, there was nothing in the sky.
I didn't pay attention to the barometer, but in my opinion the pressure was a little above average.
