Vogonitina L.M. writes to the Commission on AI.:
On November 24, 1977, at 19-30 local time (17-30 Moscow time) in Pervouralsk, we saw an unusually large beautiful blue ball against the sky, with clear contours of a circle 3 \ 4 of its size. The rest of it seemed to go over the horizon.
It's hard to put into words, I just can't find the right words, I froze in amazement, I was overcome by excitement from beauty, greatness and a rare phenomenon. Involuntarily, I remembered how primitive people, seeing an eclipse of the Sun, prostrated themselves and prayed, not knowing the explanation of the phenomenon.
That evening it was quiet, completely dark, the air temperature was -5 degrees, the Moon rose above a 2-storey building. It was clearly visible, and in the west there was a dark sky, the stars were shining.
And against this background, a beautiful ball, sharply outlined with a thin white contour, is of regular shape, and the lower one is shorter. The color is the "blue screen" when you see it through the glass.
The stars close to us and visible before did not shine through and the mass filling the nar was equally colored and seemed to float on you, you feel the volume.
I'm not an artist, but the moon looks about the same size in relation to the ball as in the picture.
I watched for 30 minutes, everything was in the same position. It is a pity that my observations stopped after 30 minutes, as I was ill with sciatica. Neither standing nor sitting. And I left. At 21 o'clock, nothing was visible.
