Alexander writes to the Commission on AI:
When what I saw happened, I was on vacation. We were driving after logging (firewood for the winter), me and two cousins Nikolai and Mikhail Gorky. Mikhail is driving a tractor, Nikolai and I are in a cart.
It was August 21st, the time was about 23-30 or 24-00. We drove from the north to the village, it was no more than 3 km away. we were sitting facing forward along the course of the tractor. And suddenly, to the left of the road at an altitude of no more than 1 km, we saw 2 red-orange lights. one blinked somewhere 2 blinked in 3 seconds. Of course, no one kept chronometers, so accuracy is not possible.
1 - approximate location of the object detection
2 - an approximate place to hang again
3-the direction of movement
And so, we noticed 2 fires. They were "hanging" in place. It is not known how long they hung before our discovery. After watching for no more than a minute, he pointed to the lights. Said: "I saw as if a glowing dot flew up to this thing, touching the lights, the dot disappeared."
Perhaps no one would have looked at it, but we were surprised by the location of the lights. The night was dark, there was no moon or stars in the sky, everything was covered with clouds. There was no rain, the speed was not felt, it was warm, about 18-22 degrees. The wind was not strong, south-easterly.
When observing the test vehicles, no one has seen anything like this. Mikhail even stopped the tractor and asked us, "What is it?"
the lights hung for 2 minutes and then flew past us. It was difficult to determine the height because of the clouds, it seemed that the "lights" were flying at the same height.
Let it be dark, let it be clouds, but no matter how hard we tried, we did not see at least some silhouette of this "thing" throughout the flight. I had never seen anything like this before, and I also did not hear any sound. in the diagram, the circle is a light with more frequent shading of the cigar, i.e. the right one according to the scheme. There was no silhouette in sight. If the plane, then why is there no green light and these were not red, but red-orange, more orange. and again, not 3 aircraft, but 2. if the helicopter, then the fire was flashing not on the bottom, but on the side and on the same level with the second one. After hovering, the lights flew at the same height and at the same speed. moreover, there was no acceleration characteristic of an airplane and helicopter, as if from a place. point 1 took acceleration to point 2. although the expression acceleration, again, does not fit, the lights from the spot gained the speed with which they moved away from us to point 2. At point 2, they froze, and as if they were not flying, but so instantly. We hung for 3 minutes, changed the position from 1 to 2. Moreover, at point 2, as it were, there was a small reversal.
When hovering at point 2 again during a U-turn, the lights somehow blocked one another and only a flashing one was visible, after a short period of time they "disconnected" and flew so on and disappeared over the horizon, i.e. over the hills.
The speed on section 1-2 was about 7-90 kph, and on section 2 and beyond, slightly lower, by about a third.
Hypotheses
Airplane / Helicopter
An aircraft heavier than air for flights in the atmosphere (and outer space (e.g. An orbital aircraft)), using the aerodynamic lift of a glider to keep itself in the air (when flying within the atmosphere) and the thrust of a power (propulsion) installation for maneuvering and compensating for the loss of total mechanical energy to drag.
A rotorcraft in which the lift and thrust required for flight are created by one or more main rotors powered by an engine or several engines. They differ in maneuverability, the ability to hover and almost vertical takeoff.
