Initial data
A letter from Kopeikin A.N.:
The duty navigator of the KP airfield of the Air Force pilot School, the pilot who performed additional weather reconnaissance, was observed.
On August 15, at 21 o'clock, the KP navigator on duty told the pilot who was performing additional weather reconnaissance that he was observing an extraneous mark on the oncoming course so that he would be more attentive, after 1-2 minutes the pilot replied that he was observing a spacecraft.
After landing, the pilot said that he observed the following picture: above his flight route, on an oncoming course, a circle of red lights flew, which alternately lit up and went out (running lights), a sheaf of flame stretched behind this cascade, and a headlight burned brightly in front (?); all the lights and flames were very bright and huge sizes. The flight altitude is 1800 m, the estimated altitude = a flight of an unknown device is 4000-500 m. The flight course of the device is 80 degrees.
According to radar data, the speed of the unknown vehicle was about 500 km/h. The mark was observed within the full range of the radar.
