Initial data
1966, July 18, approx. 3-4 a.m.; approximately 30 min.
USSR, RSFSR, Siberia, Ob River, opposite the village. Speech port.
LIDIYA PAVLINOVNA ILYINA, senior spectroscopist of the Berezovskaya expedition; F.A. CHESNOKOV, excavator operator of the expedition.
An orange disk appeared in the sky, which shone much fainter than the Moon; it was comparable in size to the moon. In front of the circle, 2 series of "cirrus clouds" were visible, each of which formed an angle of 70 degrees, i.e. in front of the disk there was a mathematical sign "much larger", which was "drawn" by short parallel clouds to each other; but there was a gap where the top of the angle should have been.
The "feathery clouds" were silvery in color, shining brighter than the brightest places in the Milky Way. Behind the disk, two yellowish solid clouds were visible symmetrically relative to the trajectory.
All this, as a whole, evenly, slowly, floated across the sky low above the horizon (about 20 degrees). The direction of travel is from Privoshchekovo (Kirovsky district of Novosibirsk) across the Ob.
The moving objects disappeared behind the fog or behind the trees.
In color and brightness, the moon during a total lunar eclipse is similar to this disk. Its color can also be compared with apricot.
