Initial data
CARLOS COROZAN, standing on the shore, saw "a large wingless apparatus, shaped like a cigar," flying over the calm waters of San Jorge Bay, less than 35 yards from it (it is not clear whether from a witness or from the bay). According to Korosan, the object was 65-70 feet long, and gray smoke was coming out of its rear part. It resembled a "car with engine problems." The material of the object resembled metal (because it reflected the sun's rays) of a gray-black color, smooth in appearance. the witness did not notice any details of the type of windows.
The "mysterious apparatus" stopped, and a large cloud of black smoke emerged from it. For several minutes, the UFO hung motionless 40 feet above the water, and then began to buzz and vibrate. A buzzing sound was followed by another short sound, and the object began to rise slowly, maintaining its north-northeast course, while still moving unsteadily.
Korosan decided to report the incident immediately as he ran to the highway, but as soon as he climbed a sand dune, a powerful explosion reached his ears, accompanied by a weakening of the buzzing sound. Looking back, he saw that the object had collapsed into the water.
"He didn't swim at all," the witness later said, "he fell into the water with a terrible splash and quickly disappeared."
Korosan stayed in place for half an hour, watching to see if any of the "passengers" of the device would appear on the surface, and then, marking the area where he was standing with a bunch of shells, went to the city to report the incident to the authorities.
