He writes to the Commission on the Vladimir Velichai:
In the newspaper Rabochy Krai for September 25, 1977, I read the article "An extraordinary phenomenon" and I want to inform you that I observed a similar phenomenon.
In mid-September 1976, between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m., following the Moscow-Ivanovo road, before reaching the village of Petushki, together with other taxi passengers, we saw a similar phenomenon.
Having stopped the car, they began to observe. At first, a flat strip of gray appeared 5-7 ° above the horizon on the right side of the road.
It looks like a thick fog. Then it began to inflate, taking the form of an elongated ball, about 50-100 m in size. Its outlines remained sharp, gradually increasing in size. All this time, a dim glow of dark red (crimson) was observed at the top or behind the clot colors. Moreover, the glow changed its brightness. At first, it gradually intensified and, having reached its maximum, began to weaken. It was difficult to determine the distance to this clot, but it could be seen that it was moving along the road, approaching it.
This phenomenon was observed for 30-40 minutes, then the clot began to lose shape and melted. The glow, during the observation, rose up and moved to the left side of the road. Then it gradually disappeared.
The weather was quiet at that time, there was no precipitation. The air temperature was about 3 °C.
