Phenomena in artwork: Zombies

As the walking dead in this movie is the mummy of ancient Egyptian priest Imhotep who was buried alive and cursed 3700 years ago. He comes to life after reading parts of an ancient spell, a young archaeologist.

Unlike the classic zombies, the revived mummy has a clear consciousness and free will. He is able to suppress the will of others and influence them at a distance, causing heart attacks or controlling their behavior (in this case his eyes glow from within). His movements slow, and after the touch of the hands there are traces of sand.
