Japanese haiku: the mushroom moonlit nights, or omphalos Japanese

Omphalotus japonicus is a species of mushroom in the cosmopolitan genus Omphalotus. You can find these yellow or brown mushrooms mainly in the mountainous regions of Japan, as well as in East Asia: in the forests of Korea, China and the Russian Far East. Japanese omphalot prefers to settle on the dead wood of beech trees.

The Japanese call this type of omphalot tsukiyotake (YAP. 月夜茸), which means "mushroom of the moonlit night". A beautiful name is given to the mushroom for a reason, but for its ability to bioluminescence.

However, despite the touching title of impalata Japanese should be afraid. The mushroom is poisonous and can cause serious poisoning if accidentally consumed. Therefore, we can only admire it from the side.
