The solar-powered Solar Impulse 2 plane landed at Abu Dhabi airport, according to the expedition's Twitter account. The plane, piloted by Bertrand Picard, became the first aircraft to fly around the Earth without using fuel.

The round-the-world trip of the solar-powered aircraft began on March 9, 2015. During this time, he made 17 flights and visited nine countries without using fuel.

The purpose of the round-the-world trip is not to create practical models of solar-powered aircraft, but to demonstrate the possibilities of alternative energy sources.
