A massive dust storm that hit the Australian town of Charleville this week, turned the settlement into a fiery desert.
Social network users published pictures of a dusty city located in the South-West of Queensland. State police urged residents to be careful on the roads and respect the security measures in low-visibility conditions.
Weather Bureau of Queensland has posted on Twitter satellite images of high resolution. "Storm in the area raised a lot of dust and knocked down trees", — said in comments.
According to the met office, the dust storm was about 200 km wide, and the speed of its winds reached 97 km/h These dust storms are not uncommon in Australia. For example, in 2013 the red dust storm hit the West of the country.
