Initial data
Mr and Mrs Taylor were on their way home from a holiday in the countryside near the English border. The roads were quiet as they rounded a corner with high hedges crowning steep embankments on either side of the sidewalk.
Suddenly they noticed a figure that had evidently just descended from the embankment. He was turned away from the road, but turned slightly to look at them with a surprised face as they passed. At the same time, it seemed that he was picking something up from the curb.
This creature was considered unusual because of its large stature. He was at least 6 feet 6 inches (198.1 cm) tall. Probably more than 7 feet (2.1 m) tall, and he was wearing a one-piece silver suit and a Balaclava-type helmet. The face looked human enough, but the eyes were mechanical.

The roads had been quiet as they rounded a corner with tall hedgerows topping a steep embankment on either side of the curb. Suddenly they spotted a figure, which had apparently just clambered down the embankment.
