A piece of ice the size of a cannonball pierced the roof of a house in Wisconsin, USA, reports KTIV.

A large 5.7 kg ice ball smashed through the bedroom ceiling, leaving a large hole right above the bed. Fortunately, none of the residents were injured.

According to the owners of the house, the damage will be about 1 thousand dollars.

Where this block of ice came from is still unknown. On this day, there was a storm and dark clouds. However, representatives of the National Weather Service in Chanhassen noted that the storm was not strong enough to cause such hail.

The ice samples were sent to the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire for research.
