Initial data
Five local residents saw the figure traveling unassisted through their homes on Sunday morning. One described him as "Superman".
Three witnesses Clive Wright, his wife Janet (68 years old) and their 14-year-old grandson Nicholas watched a lot of gulls and noticed that, in their opinion, one in the middle was moving quite slowly. Clive got up to take a closer look, and realized that it was a flying man.
He looked in the sky for the plane from which he jumped out, but saw nothing. All he could see was a man driving in a controlled straight line from the Ryecroft shops to Gentleshaw Common.
He ran upstairs to get binoculars, but when he returned, the flying man was no longer there.
