The formation of white foam on the St. Petersburg Ring Road does not pose a danger to citizens, the Rosprirodnadzor of the Northern capital reported. Recall that the foam-like substance was noticed by motorists on July 20 after heavy rain fell in the area.
According to some citizens, the cause of the foam could be some chemical reactions. Many were seriously alarmed, including for the fate of the Gulf of Finland, into which an incomprehensible train from the roadway could easily get.
Fortunately, the experts found out that there is no threat. They explained that in hot weather, a large number of dust particles accumulate in the atmospheric layers. When it rains, it seems to "dump" them on the heated road. And the dense traffic of cars contributes to the whipping of dust and rain moisture to the state of foam.
There is no question of harmful chemical effects on the Gulf of Finland.
