A terrified British woman claimed that she was once chased by a human ape, similar to Tarzan, whom she met. He was looking down from the trees at her.

Despite the lack of scientific evidence of its existence, sightings of the bigfoot - an ape-like creature - are often reported in rural mountainous areas of the United States. And now Karen has suggested that she may have come into contact with the British equivalent when she was playing with friends in the northeast of England as a child.

Telling her story to investigator Deborah Hatswell in her podcast "BBR Investigations, Cryptid Creatures", Karen explained:

"I saw what I can only describe as an ape-man, and he was sitting in a tree. The main thing I remember for sure is that I looked at this tree, and he was in a tree, and I could only describe him in one way: he was neither a man nor a monkey, but still he was both. I remember thinking when I rationalized: One of the thoughts was "Oh, Tarzan."

It sounds funny, but it was the only thing I've ever seen that was on a tree, crouching down, especially holding something in his hand, because I believe he had some kind of, maybe it was a knife, or maybe it was just a rock or something like that.

And also, I remember thinking "young man"... but I knew he didn't look like any other person I'd seen."

Despite her vague memories, Karen was able to describe some of the supposed features of the creature she witnessed, saying:

"He was about the height of a man, with long dark thick hair. I know that the body had dark hair and a dark body. And I know he was naked, but I don't remember seeing any private parts, but I know he was squatting, so I don't know if it covers certain areas. I remember very dark eyes, very bright eyes.

But what really stood out was that I had seen the ape-man, and I had never seen him before, it was something completely different. I remember feeling terrified and running away, but the moment I ran away, the girls were already there."

But despite her confidence in what she saw, Karen remembered that her older friends had not seen the alleged ape-man, and she never encountered him again.
