THE TESTIMONY OF Tikhomirov Y.S., a taxi driver

On the night of May 15, 1981, at about 01:45, I followed in the direction of Avtovo. 100-150 m to the street.I was stopped by a trolleybus driver who drew my attention to the sky.

There, at an angle of 45-50° to the horizon, I saw an object hovering in the sky. The object had a clear outline, glowing with a bluish-greenish color. Its size is 1/3 of the diameter of the full moon.

Clear and smoothly curved narrow-band rays emanated from the lower part of the object. The rays formed a kind of "bud". At the edges, its rays thickened symmetrically and glowed like a fluorescent lamp. The rays were brighter than the object itself. There were no more than 20 of them. The space between the beams also glowed, but more faintly. It all looked like an inverted bell or dome, hollow and illuminated from the inside. At the same time, to the right of the object, I saw a column of dark brown smoke rising from the ground, winding in places and with gaps. Then the smoke gradually spread out and turned into an elongated cloud that hung in the sky for a long time.

The object was suspended for about 3-5 minutes. Then he began to move away towards the bay in a straight trajectory and horizontally.

As soon as the object started moving, the "bud" expanded. With his rise, the end of the rays, which had previously been hidden behind the houses, became to blame. The object was moving away and the glow became dimmer and dimmer. After 1.5 - 2 minutes, he disappeared behind the houses.

After that, for several seconds to the right and just below the place where the object was hovering, faint flickering highlights played in the sky, forming a vague cross-shaped figure. It glowed with a color close to orange. It seems that this flickering started at the moment of the object's departure. When the last glare went out, then for a moment

In this place, an object with faintly distinguishable contours of a ball surrounded by a thick disk was illuminated, as if by a searchlight beam. This object glowed dark red, or maroon, in color.

Although the body of this object looked ghostly, I don't think I imagined it.

The trolleybus driver did not see this object's body. During the observation, I felt a lot of anxiety, perhaps because of the unusual phenomenon. When the object began to move away, I felt relieved.
