The phenomenon was observed in May (15th) 1981. at 01.45 - 01.55. The house stands on the shore of Lake Onega and it happened in front of the windows. The object appeared at an altitude of 30° above the horizon. Moving from east to west. The brightness of the object exceeded the brightness of the Moon. The object resembled a very bright star.

The sky was clear, and the white nights were already beginning.

I was woken up by my frightened wife saying: "There's something going on in the sky!"

The phenomenon resembled the shape of a "tadpole" with a long tail, i.e. something was moving from the east, leaving an inversion trail behind it. Then the speed began to slow down, and the spherical formation at the end began to grow and stopped, and in the middle of it a bright object was visible (which was still moving inside the shell and also stopped and hovered in its middle). And then strange things began to happen.

Suddenly, just below this formation, a bright orange "cross" flashed, and the object started at high speed, if compared with the speed of a jet fighter, this speed was much higher here. There was no longer an inversion trail behind the object. The brightness became less, and only a small tail was observed behind the object, like the rays of a searchlight. The object was moving north and quickly disappeared. And the contrail, which was observed before the freeze, hovered for about 3 hours. He was also visible at 5 a.m.
