Tunchi are the spirits of the dead who return from the other world to finish the job they started, or the spirit of a person who is about to die, and who must complete his business on earth before going to the other world.
These fragile souls announce their presence with a sad whistle: "Fin finnn, fin finnn", which echoes off the walls and is accompanied by the sound of their footsteps or the clatter of furniture they touch, which causes fear in those who hear it.
Tunchi can often be seen in the form of shadows or, in some cases, in the form of a silhouette of the person whose soul they represent: this silhouette hovers in the air low from the ground, without touching it.
