A creature from Peruvian legends. Yakumama in Quechua means Mother of Water.

It is a giant snake that lives in the depths of rivers and lakes. On those rare occasions when she comes to the surface of the water, she causes a storm, drowning boats and fishermen. When it appears on the water, giant waves and water funnels appear, very rare for the calm waters of the Amazon.

This snake raises its unusual head and body to a height of 2-3 meters from the water, standing in the center of a river or lake, and then slowly sinks back into the water so as not to return for a long time.

Modern researchers have concluded that this myth refers to giant anacondas living in the Amazon and its tributaries.
