Version type

Poplar (Populus) belong to the genus of deciduous trees of the family Salicaceae. They are common in temperate latitudes of Eurasia and North America, while capturing part of the subtropical regions of China and Mexico, are found in East Africa. Tall trees reach up to 30-45 (sometimes 60) m, trunk diameter of up to 1.5 (from individual trees to 3) m. Flowers clustered in erect or drooping inflorescences (catkins), bearing only male or female flowers. Bloom in the spring before leafing or simultaneously with opening of leaves. Male catkins after the eruption of pollen dry out and fall off, in the female catkins ripen fruit — boxes. Seeds are small, with a tuft of numerous fine silky hairs (the poplar "fluff"), carried by the wind.

Ability to distinguish the poplar fluff have only female plants. Thus, poplar trees have one feature: you can change your gender (for the male plant produces female catkins). Mostly it happens in big cities with adverse environmental conditions.

Poplar fluff can be adopted accidentally (or purposefully given out) for the angel hair or similar unexplained stuff.
