An aerial view of the old circles

Many researchers of the phenomenon of crop circles believe that the date of his birth can be considered 1978, and before that the circles did not exist.

Terry Wilson, the author of the book "the secret history of crop circles" ("The Secret History of Crop Circles") has created a resource for Old Crop Circlesto collect from various sources the photos and evidence of the existence of the phenomenon before the specified date.

In this article, we partially translate the publication from the specified resource dedicated to the circles depicted with the help of aerial photography.

The researchers of the phenomenon are divided into two camps. Some believe the mechanism of the origin of the circles is natural, and that means having a long history. The second believe that the circles are applied to fields artificially.

On this issue was expressed by the Professor of archaeology Charles Thomas in the journal of the Cerealogist (1991):

In the archaeological objectives of the Wessex from the air, covered for half a century, and in recent dry years a large amount of public money has been allocated for the registration of a huge number of emerging archaeological sites.
Old aerial photos of crop circles do not appear.
Therefore, the process (a) is of recent origin, and (b) is probably the cumulative

Ralph Noyes, a senior officer of the Centre for research of crop circles (Centre for Crop Circle Studies or CCCS), also supported this view. In a letter to Paul fuller in 1991 he claimed:

But whatever the opinions about these earlier events, compelling evidence suggests that until 1970-ies in the fields, little has happened. This is well substantiated by the recent study commissioned by the Wessex skeptics. In this study, have been carefully studied archaeological photographs beginning in the 1920s years: abundantly discovered marks on the fields (the remains of ruined buildings); "crop circles" were found. This is a useful study (which confirms an earlier study conducted by CCCS) strongly supports the view that "crop circles" (as we understand them) have been developed only in recent years.

So whether in the fields until 1978 complex characters? Or enough education any forms to classify it as a phenomenon? It was decided not to jump to conclusions and to consider carefully the shape of circles of the time. Author resource looking for formations, captured in the photographs of aerial photography. Photos and a brief description will be given in the gallery of this article.
