Initial data
The ruins of the Abbey have Lesnes, located to the South-East of London, are one of the most popular tourist spots of England.
The Catholic monastery was founded in 1178 ceremonial officer Richard de Lucie. As in the case of any other British historical landmark, a place shrouded in many myths and rumors about supernatural phenomena. For example, many local urban legends cover people from the dead.
Once the Abbey was surrounded by impenetrable forests, and it was believed that they were possessed by the spirit of a novice, who was executed because of a romantic relationship with a woman. Over time, the forest has disappeared, but stated that there still can be seen at night a ghostly figure, wandering sadly among the already existing trees. It is in fact a forest monk allegedly secretly met with his lover.
Another myth States that in the ruins of the Abbey you can meet medieval phantom rider on a horse, his armor shining in the light of the bright moon.
Recently it became clear that an interesting proof of the presence here of paranormalne was obtained in the 30-ies of the last century. Suddenly surfaced the mysterious photograph taken many decades ago near the former monastery and showing a translucent human figure (lower right corner).
Karen Saussure, accidentally discovered this picture in the photo archives of his grandfather, James Preston, suggests that the Ghost is dressed in a jacket, tights and shoes. He opened his mouth and there are sunglasses on the face. The latter is particularly curious because the first sunglasses though, and began to mass produce in the late 20-ies, products of exactly this form was invented much later.
Does the photo captures the chronometrage, a Ghost of a man from a later time?..

Hypotheses
Defects in old photos
There are a number of defects specific to film images. They are connected with the peculiarities of the film and principle photo.
The film in essence is a strip of transparent synthetic plastic, supported on her a photosensitive layer of chemical substances that can alter its transparency or properties under the action of light.
Multiple exposure or multiple exposure
A special device, which is that the same frame is exposed ("photographed") several times.
Objects in motion, captured on a long exposure
Most often this artifact is called skayfish if the lens gets a passing bird or insect. It is based on the discrepancy between the speed of the video and the frequency of the flapping of insect wings. Essentially, each video drops a few strokes of the wings of an insect, which when viewed looks like "arrow", provided with long protuberances. The motion of the insect by its translucent body seems to "boom" and vibration of the wings give the appearance of bumps.
Pareidolic illusion
A variety of visual illusions (the so-called "sensory illusions additions"); is the formation of illusory images, as a basis which are the details of the real object. Thus, the vague and obscure the visual image is perceived as something distinct and defined — for example, figures of people and animals in the clouds, the image of a man on the moon, "a hidden message", audible when you reverse the audio recordings, the shadows formed by leaves or complexes of objects in certain lighting (sometimes at a certain angle).

Investigation
The photo quality is pretty bad, but it can be considered a translucent silhouette. That took sunglasses could well be just a play of light and shadow, and the figure turned translucent due to the peculiarities of shooting (went from frame, double exposure, etc.)
