In Wales in past centuries, there were stories from the "wild man" that lived in the area Gwynant nant (Nant Gwynant) is a very picturesque valley in North Wales.
If you go there in the tourist tour, you will show the dark cave under the official name "Owen Lawgoch," and informal "cave of the hairy man." It supposedly lived before this thing.
Wild man, sound like a cross between humans and apes, brought a lot of trouble to farmers, raiding their fields, barns with supplies and pens for sheep. When this creature didn't just steal sheep for food, it has adapted to milk cows and goats for milk. Farmers desperately tried to catch the thief, setting up ambushes and traps, but everything was useless. His invulnerability and elusiveness eventually led people to the conclusion that they are dealing with something supernatural may be with a product of the spirit of the valley.
In the meeting the researcher Olla Lewis is here this entertaining story:
"One day a shepherd was returning from the mountains later than usual and noticed on a nearby hill something unusual: a tall humanoid creature, thick, male sex and without clothes, but covered from head to toe with red hair.
The shepherd decided that this creature is the famous wild man, who steals the cattle. He carefully walked past the savage, and then ran quickly run towards the village. The shepherd gathered the villagers and told them about what he saw and convinced the people to attack the thief once and for all and banish it from these places. After that, people shouting and improvised weapons ran towards the hill. Here's something they made up at the sight of them red-haired giant suddenly stood up on all fours and ran away from the hill. However, it has not brought the villagers of deliverance.
After just a few days the savage again went to the village, stealing supplies and wreaking havoc and fear. Then people came up with a new plan and decided to set his dogs on them. But this plan also failed, barely smelling the dogs being on high speed ran away, easily leaving behind the fastest hounds. And of course, that soon it again began to visit the village. Then the village came the man that everyone called a witch. He said he could help catch red thief, if he will lead hound pure red, without a single hair of a different color.
After a long search, the people found a dog and brought her to the sorcerer. Soon after red hound brought people directly into a red giant and he seemed trapped on the edge of a cliff. However, when people rushed to his side to catch him, he again managed to escape without harm to himself jumping down from the cliff. The people of the valley was cursed that creature as if it were uneasy, and which each time became bolder. The Cup of patience was exhausted, even the humble local women. One of them was so outraged by the frequent attacks of the hairy thief on supplies, they decided to throw him an armed ambush. Every night she was hiding in the room with supplies with an axe in his hand.
And then one day she waited and in the middle of the night saw a huge hairy carcass trying to get into her house through the window. The woman did not wait for the creature to climb inside, and jumped out of his hiding place and slammed his hand with his axe. The blow was so strong that the monster hand was completely severed, and he ran away, leaving a trail of blood. The next morning the whole village was awakened by the joyful news that night the thief managed to hurt.
A crowd gathered, they took a blood trail, which led them to the very cave under a waterfall. They found no one inside, but since the monster is never seen in the village. It is assumed that he died from loss of blood. After that, the cave began to call "the cave of the hairy man."
