Behind the wheel of the minibus driver, Jose da Silva and three passengers were listening to the radio in a light rain when they suddenly heard a buzzing sound and noticed a diffused light over the road.
Suddenly, the van rose into the air to a height of about 50 cm and stopped there for a moment, immediately descending and rising again into the air. Soon he was put back on the road, this time more slowly.
Then the men noticed a brightly glowing circular object hovering more than 100 meters above their heads. Terrified people watched the van with an object that they described as only about 2 meters in diameter, with several porthole-like holes in its lower part where you could see shadows or movement passing behind them.
