The video, filmed by a Gettysburg visitor and published by the New York Post, purports to show a pair of "ghosts" emerging from guns and crossing the road in front of a supposedly petrified driver.
New Jersey resident Greg Yilling recorded the video during a trip to the famous Civil War battlefield with his family earlier this month, reports The Post .
Of course, the top-notch team of ghost hunting experts here at the Daily Caller quickly figured out if this ghost was really something otherworldly, a hoax, or something in between.
"I've had ghost meetings in Gettysburg. It's completely real." - Hannah Panrek, Deputy editor of the Daily Caller.

Horrifying footage shows "ghost soldiers" running around the former battlefield.
Two ghostly figures apparently appeared in the clip at the famous Civil War site in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, USA. Greg Ewing, a store manager from New Jersey, was visiting the place with his daughters and two uncles, wanting to learn more about the history of the area, when the ghosts appeared.
Mr Ewing said he and his family "heard a noise" and a "strange fog" appeared before they were "startled" by the unusual sight in front of them. He claimed to have been a skeptic about the paranormal world in the past, but now "believes everything."
The store manager told me:
"One night we were driving and started to hear a noise: I heard something on the left, and my uncle heard something on the right, and there was fog, but the fog was strange, it was only in one patch that did not disperse. Then we saw these figures moving in the dark, they were the size of a man, one of them ran right through the cannon.
It was weird, scary, it was crazy… My uncle was so scared that he closed the window. We went back and watched the videos over and over again, and then zoomed them in on the big screen to get a closer look.
This scared us even more. It was really exciting, but I also had a strange, ominous feeling, as if something was telling me to go back there. I couldn't sleep, but it scared me, so I didn't go."
Original news
A video captured by a Gettysburg visitor and reported by the New York Post purports to show a pair of “ghosts” emerging from cannons and crossing the road in front of the presumably petrified driver.
New Jersey resident Greg Yuelling recorded the video while driving through the famous Civil War battlefield with his family earlier this month, the Post reported.
Of course, the crack team of ghost hunting “experts” here at the Daily Caller were quick to chime in on whether this apparition was indeed something otherworldly, a hoax or something in between.
“I have had ghostly encounters in Gettysburg. These are totally real.” – Daily Caller associate editor Hanna Panreck
“Going on record to say I believe in ghosts and also Bigfoot thank you all very much.” – Daily Caller associate editor Sarah Albers
“But there’s spooky music though.” – Daily Caller News Foundation video editor Sean Moody
“Those are definitely not smudges. Being from Ohio, I also believe in Bigfoot as well.” – Daily Caller social media manager Logan Hall
“Holy smokes! I’ve been to a few of those battlefields out there on the east coast. Those places are definitely haunted. That is all.” – Daily Caller entertainment reporter Katie Jerkovich
“This is real. Ghosts are real. So are wendigos and skinwalkers.” – Daily Caller contributor Kyle Hooten
“Yeah ghosts are real, but this is warped glass or smudges.” – Daily Caller White House correspondent Anders Hagstrom
“Those are definitely real ghosts and not a smudge on the guy’s windscreen. – Daily Caller News Foundation associate editor Thomas Phippen
OK, none of these are professional ghost hunters, but we do have someone on staff who has worked in the “field.”
Before coming to work at the Daily Caller, Greg Niecestro appeared on the Syfy channel show “Killer Contact” and has been a part of many paranormal investigations. (RELATED: Ghost In North Carolina College Student’s Room Turned Out To Be 30-Year-Old Man)
“I’ve been to dozens and dozens of ghost hunts and did it for the Syfy channel so I like to think my opinion counts in these rare circumstances,” Niecestro said. “It’s a water smudge and I can say that conclusively because if you look at the ‘ghost’ moving, it lines up perfectly evenly with the water smudge the entire time. And that water smudge is there before and after the ghost appears. Add in the camera moving at the perfect time and it creates a really weird looking effect.”
Niecestro attached the following picture as “proof” of his assertion.
There you have it. Turns out, two of our amateurs had it right all along.
Are ghosts real? We don’t know for sure, but we are fairly certain this driver didn’t capture the proof the world needs.

Video captures two ghosts as they appear to run across a battlefield stopping just short of the road. Mind boggling. A bone chilling video. Two “ghosts” in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, were spotted — 157 years after the infamous Civil War battle. Filmed by an amazed New Jersey resident, as he drove, at night, through the historical battleground with his astonished family. He was speechless and you will be too. Proof ghosts are real.
Hypotheses
Smoke
Smoke is a stable disperse system consisting of small solid particles suspended in gases produced by the combustion of anything. Smoke particles can serve as nuclei of condensation of atmospheric moisture, resulting in fog.
The smoke resulting from the combustion of various chemical substances can be accepted for the unusual color of the fog. For photos and videos it can give interesting the kind of education that can be mistaken for ghosts.

Often it's a small point on the photos, like hovering metal ball. At least - this is quite a big blur. Color, brightness and the presence of a highlight depends on the color of the reflected light source, background shooting and drop form.
Shape, color and density of pollution may vary depending on the source of the contamination and its nature. This can be as a desired pattern on the glass, and random.

Mounting
Photo editing began to be used almost immediately after the advent of photography techniques. They were divided into methods of photomontage without manipulation of the image after receiving the photo and retouching of the photo itself or its negative (plate, film, etc.)
Fog
Fog — atmospheric phenomenon, the accumulation of water in the air, formed of minute particles of water vapor.
The relative humidity of the air when fog is usually close to 100 %, and the continuous fog duration is usually from half an hour to several days.
At the weather station note the following types of fog:

Investigation
The video clearly shows that the "ghost" is visible in other frames (the dark spot is the lower part of the drop, if you look closely, you can see the "periodic appearance of the ghost" from the first frames), and also move along with the car. Most likely, these are drops on the windshield of the car that refract light.
