Initial data
On a dark night with light rain, Jean-Luc Nozier was driving home when his headlights spotted something white on the side of the road. When he approached it, he saw that it was the face of a man, just 2 feet (0.6 m) above the ground, half facing the sky. The eyes were wide and unblinking, but there was no expression, as if in a trance. The face was angular, square-jawed, and completely still. The witness drove non-stop.
