M. Claude Cretin, while driving, saw the searchlight flash 3 times.
Then he noticed a yellow-and-orange diving suit with a round helmet with a rectangular glass at eye level in the bushes by the road. A whitish light shone over the helmet. Only the upper part of the figure, which was about 20 feet (6 m) away, was visible above the bushes.
He notified the police, who the next day found just broken branches at the site.
