The family was driving along interstate 84 when they noticed what they initially called "funny planes"North of their location.
My father described these objects as three black triangular ships over the other side of a river gorge, heading in their direction. Their car's engines suddenly stalled, including the dashboard lights, radio, CB, etc.
Then he pulled over to the side of the road, wondering what was going on. His next memory was of standing in front of the car and wondering what he was doing there.
The mother and children looked at him from inside the car with confused expressions. He got back in the car and everything was fine now. They were all dazed and disoriented and stopped at a diner the next time.
When my father sat down and ate a hamburger, the hair on the back of his neck stood up, as if someone was behind him. He turned around and saw a man sitting two tables away, not eating, just looking at the family. The witness sensed danger. He got up and walked over to the stranger, a thin man with olive-brown skin, jet-black hair, and beady eyes framed by thick black brows and a pointed chin. The stranger was wearing black shoes, a suit, and a white shirt.
The witness then asked the stranger, "Can I help you?»
He answered sharply: "Where are you going?»
Startled, the witness replied: "I'm going to take my family to Fossil and see the sights."
Then the stranger replied in a low but distinct voice: "don't go down there, don't go through the treetops again."
With that, he got up and walked out the door. Stunned, the witness returned to his Desk and discussed the day's events, and it dawned on him how they somehow couldn't explain the three hours of time and then the encounter with this strange stranger.
Then they all saw him drive very slowly past the diner's glass door in a very black polished truck, just looking at them as he drove past. The family was driving fast on highway 97 when they were suddenly overtaken by a large black car, as if they were standing still, with the same face looking at them as it passed (the witness was driving at 65 mph). The strange black car quickly disappeared from view.
Everyone in the car was very upset again. The witness then pressed the gas pedal to 80 mph in an attempt to leave the area, but again a strange black car with a stern face inside drove past them again.
In a panic, the family went to look for a place in the company of other people and drove towards Deschutes state Park right ahead, when they quickly turned right, they saw the same strange man standing on the side of the road. They stopped at this place for the night, but never saw the stranger again.
After the incident, their car did not work properly.

While the father sat down eating a hamburger the hair on the back of his neck stood up as if someone was behind him, he turned around and saw a man sitting two tables away, not eating but just staring at the family. The witness sensed danger. He stood up and walked over to the stranger, he was thin, with olive-brown skin, coal black hair, and beady eyes framed by bushy-black eyebrows and pointed chin. The stranger wore black shoes and suit, and a white shirt. The witness then asked the stranger, “May I help you with something?” He shot back crisply, “Where are you going”? Feeling very uneasy the witness answered “I am going to take the family down to Fossil and see the sights”. The stranger then replied in a low but distinct voice, “Do not go down there, things bigger than houses, come in over tops of the trees.” With that he stood up and went out the door. Stunned, the witness went back to his table and discussed the events of the day and it dawned on him how that somehow they were unable to account for three hours of time, and then the encounter with this weird stranger. Then they all saw him drive very slowly by the side glass door of the diner, in a very black highly polished utility truck, just staring at them as he passed by. Afraid the family drove quickly on highway 97 when suddenly a large black car passed them like if they were standing still, with the same face looking at them as he passed (the witness were driving at 65 mph). The strange black car was quickly out of sight. Everyone in the car became quite upset again. The witness then mashed the gas pedal up to 80mph attempting to leave the area, but again the strange black car with the stern face passed by them again. In a panic the family went looking for a place with other people around and drove towards Deschutes State Park just ahead, as they made a quick right turn, they saw standing on the side of the road the same strange man. They camped at the location overnight but never saw the stranger again. Their car never functioned correctly after the incident.
