Initial data
While her siblings picked fruit, 10-year-old Karen stayed in the woods.
During a walk to the forest, she saw a bright rainbow light in the sky, although any connection with what was going to happen in the near future, is not proven.
Entering the forest, Karen followed a familiar path until she came to a well-known clearing. The area was strangely quiet. The sounds of birds and animals stopped. The only sound that echoed through the tree came from the crunching dry leaves under her feet.
Suddenly, she saw a group of small figures in front of her, four in all, and she couldn't move when faced with this strange group. It was "frozen in place."
The entities began to approach her, and when they did, she saw that not only their eyes, but even more remarkably, their skin was colored blue.
They were small, smaller than even 10-year-old Karen, probably not even reaching her shoulder. And then she felt the touch of hands, cold and slippery.
A huge light appeared out of nowhere, and the next thing Karen can remember is lying on a large round table that had the appearance of solid metal but seemed soft around her, almost as if it was molded to the contours of her body. The creatures surrounded her, assuring her that everything was all right. However, not a word was spoken.
These creatures looked like humans, but she also noticed taller creatures whose bodies were incredibly thin, like stick insects.
She believes that the small creatures she first encountered may have been working for these taller aliens. The room was dark, but she remembered a light shining from somewhere.
Drops dripped into her eyes, paralyzing them for a while. Karen recalls how a "contraption that looked like a machine" covered her from head to toe and entered her mouth. Perhaps he had also examined her nostrils.
In the end, Karen returned to the place where her mysterious journey began. Dazed and shaken, she headed home. When she came in, she was shocked again: it had been more than eight hours since she had gone on the picnic. Her distraught parents wanted to call the police.

She was, “frozen to the spot.” The entities started to come towards her and as they did so she could see that not only their eyes, but also more remarkably, their skin was colored blue. They were small, smaller even than 10-year old Karen, probably not even reaching her shoulder. And then she felt hands touching her, cold and slimy. An enormous light appeared from nowhere and the next thing that Karen can picture is lying on a big circular table, which had the appearance of hard metal, but felt soft around her, almost as if it had been molded to the contours of her body. Entities surrounded her, reassuring her everything was all right. Not a word, though, was spoken. These beings looked human, but also she caught sight of taller entities whose bodies were incredibly thin, like stick insects. When she walked in, she received another shock. Over eight hours had passed since she had gone on the picnic. Her frantic parents had been on the point of calling the police.
