Bill Bartlett, 17, was driving along farm street with two friends when he saw the creature on top of a roadside rock wall, about 20 feet (6 m) away.
It was between 3.5 and 4 feet (1-1. 2 m) tall in an upright position,had a small, slender body, and a very large melon-shaped head that had no features other than two large round orange glowing eyes. His skin was "the color of a shark" and he had large hands and feet with fingers that seemed to hug everything that supported them.
He slowly turned his head to look at the witness, who quickly drove away. His companions didn't see it. An artist, he later made a drawing for researchers, which is now widely reproduced in most sources (not in the article).
