A contemporary newspaper article said that businessman Alejandro Hernandez claimed that on September 24, 1978, as he was driving through southern Chile, he noticed a huge saucer over his head.
The saucer hovered over his car and swallowed it up. Inside, he said, five bulky figures stuffed his 13-year-old son into a box, while a sixth questioned Hernandez in a metallic voice.
It is alleged that eyewitnesses watched as the car with the frightened father and son inside descended onto the road.
Later sources in the UFO literature do not mention that the son was stuffed in a box, and add that both witnesses saw devices with colored lights, similar to slot machines, that there was some conversation between the father and the creatures, which the latter pointed out when he asked where they came from. The creatures were very tall, human - like, dressed in metal-like clothing, and that they seemed to know the name of the witness.
As for the newspaper La Razon, they apparently reported that Alejandro Hernandez Perez said that on September 24, he and his son were kidnapped aboard a ship piloted by creatures that he believed were from an advanced earth civilization. They spoke Spanish "in a firm and even voice, although with a metallic sound, like a speaker into a microphone."
He was asked not to reveal what was being discussed, in anticipation of a new predicted collision.
In addition to the differences between some versions, the Dating in later sources varies from "1979" to "August 24, 1978", "September 24, 1978", "September 26, 1978".
