Initial data
Arles, Bouches-du-Rhone, France, December 16, 1978, at 22: 45, at a local oil depot, a worker went outside to take out the garbage, and saw a white sphere of light approaching in a rapid zigzag motion.
The light hovered, and the witness saw colored lights, and a rectangular metal object descended from the source. At that moment, he saw two men who looked like figures inside a rectangular object, one at each end. One of the figures apparently signaled to the other, and then the object left.
The witness's battery appears to have been damaged in the incident.
Shortly after the meeting, the witness disappeared under mysterious circumstances that are not detailed.
