19-year-old Luis vital Carneiro was returning home after visiting friends during a powerful electrical storm in the region.
As he entered the fenced-in field, he first noticed a strange light Bouncing over the square, and then about 50 meters away, near the barbed wire, he noticed two short humanoid figures. Curious, he jumped over the fence and approached the figures.
At a distance of ten meters from the humanoids, he noticed that they radiated a bright white light from the top of their heads down to the ground. The white light suddenly turned red, and the two figures suddenly disappeared, then reappeared 30 meters away from the road.
As Carneiro tried to jump over the barbed wire fence again, a beam of light hit him, knocking him senseless. Recovering, Carneiro ran to his aunt's house and warned her.
Mrs. Orialis de Los Santos (his aunt) went out into the garden and saw in a nearby field a group of about four humanoids that seemed to be gliding rapidly back and forth above the ground. Accompanied by vital, they both counted a total of thirteen humanoids that “glided” in different directions over an area of about 100 square meters.
For almost an hour, witnesses watched the strange humanoids frolic around as if playing.
Vital Carneiro again tried to approach one of the humanoids, but was again knocked down by a beam of red light that seemed to come from the creature's head.
He fell to the ground, feeling as if he had been struck by lightning. Concerned for his safety, Mrs. de Los Santos ran to her injured nephew and dragged him into the house.
From the house, both of them could still see the short humanoids gliding around, plus about 500 meters away, behind the trees, a large bright silver light that seemed to be on the ground or slowly rising up and down.
Witnesses described the humanoids as 60 centimeters tall, with very large heads, triangular faces, large pointed ears, and rounded eyes. Their bodies were small and "rectangular" in shape. They were wearing what looked like gray uniforms and round caps that radiated light.
They seemed to communicate with each other in rapid bursts of “buzzing sounds." They glided quickly along the platform and, according to Mrs. de Los Santos, stood on small circular platforms, but Carneiro does not remember seeing these platforms.
