Dr. Aleutsky had a knife with him, but he felt that it was a poor defense against an enraged beast. The doctor hurriedly dropped the basket of mushrooms and raced back to his boat. Suddenly, he heard a blood-curdling scream from behind.
Turning his head, the doctor saw a gorilla-like creature holding a bear in its arms. The beast was 2.5 meters tall, its body covered with thick brown fur. It was a female, and its big teeth were bared. Holding the bear by its hind legs, the creature tore it in half without apparent effort.
The observation lasted only a few seconds.
