Manicure master Maria Vega was returning home from her sister's house. As she was crossing an empty field to reach her home, she encountered a "terrifying monster" described as a huge, fast-moving ape that was on all fours and had large red eyes.
Despite his ape-like appearance, Maria compared him to a colossal dog that smelled of carrion. He towered over the woman as he stood in front of her on two legs. The obvious confirmation of what Maria saw came from Irene Rodriguez do Mata, who also described the creature as a giant dog.
Local night watchman Luis Carlos said he saw the creature five times in one night. He claimed that the creature had killed two cows. Dead dogs were also found in the area.

Despite of its simian appearance, Maria likened it to a colossal dog that reeked of carrion. It towered over the woman when it stood before her on two legs. Apparent confirmation to Maria’s sighting came from Irene Rodrigues do Mata, who would also describe the entity as a giant dog. A local night watchman, Luis Carlos, claimed having seen the aberration five times during the same night. He claimed that the creature had killed two cows. Dead dogs had also been found in the area.
