Virginia and her husband retired and bought a house near the Maryland coast. The house was 85 years old and needed major repairs. Much of the renovation involved cosmetic repairs to the interior.
A small room with an old desk and empty filing cabinets on the second floor of a two-story house was supposed to be part of a larger room next door with the wall removed. There were also old suitcases, empty packing cases, and other trash.
As the contracting work was due to begin in a few days, Virginia, her husband, and two friends set to work, clearing everything out of the small room. First they took out the desk and filing cabinets, and then they began to collect the old suitcases and various pieces of trash left in the corners of the small room.
While the four of them were working, Virginia felt a little sick in her stomach. Her husband and friends complained of similar feelings in the next few moments.
Before either of them could think about their sudden, unexplained illness, a strange green mist filled one corner of the room. When everyone present was focused on the green mist, they saw a human figure taking shape.
It looked as if the man was wearing a white sailor uniform, as everyone later decided. It seems that this was not a modern uniform, but one that was worn 50 or 60 years ago. No one was familiar with the navy uniform, but the group came to this conclusion after looking at photos of American sailors from the 40s. After a few seconds, the man became stronger and began to move a little.
Virginia's husband worked as an electrician for many years before retiring, and noticed that he smelled an overheated circuit combined with the appearance of a sailor. Before anyone could say or do anything, the sailor looked at the group and said:
"2005. Beware of 2005! They're playing with your future!»
After that, the sailor disappeared into the wall, and the green mist dissipated in less than ten seconds. Later, everyone agreed that they had heard his voice, and everyone had heard the same thing. They described the sailor's voice as deep and full, but slightly muffled.

They moved the desk and file cabinets out first, and then began bundling up the old suitcases and various pieces of debris left in the corners, of the small room. While the four worked, Virginia began to feel a bit sick to her stomach. Her husband and friends complained of similar feelings over the next few moments. Before any of them had time to consider their sudden, unexplained illness, an odd green mist filled one corner of the room. As all present were focused on the green mist, they could see a human form taking shape. It looked like a man dressed in what all agreed later was a sailor’s white uniform.
