Initial data
The owner of El Cadillo Ranch, Mr. Jesus Gel Gonzalez, told the municipal police that six of his animals were found dead due to very strange wounds on their bodies.
Police officers and Dr. Oscar Sanchez, director of the Juarez Health Department, arrived at the scene and found the bodies of six goats with very deep wounds to their necks. The injuries appeared to be the bite of some predatory animal, though what surprised officials most was that not a drop of blood was found on any of the bodies.
The rancher said he saw a creature 1.20 m tall, gray in color and with a 4-meter wingspan, which he suspects is the culprit in the killing of goats. He added that this is not the first time animals have been killed in this way on his property and that even some of his dogs have disappeared.
When police arrived at the scene, they found several prints resembling large four-fingered claws, and were unable to determine the type of animal they matched.
Dr. Sanchez said these deaths are not normal, given that a predator such as a cougar or coyote tore open the goat's belly and stepped on its organs. The creature responsible for the goats ' deaths only sucked their blood, but what animal could have caused it remains a mystery.
