The incident occurred on June 6, 1989 near the village of Konantsevo in the Harovsky district of the Vologda region.
Eyewitnesses, local schoolchildren, as the TASS correspondent reports, " having looked at a kite hovering over the outskirts of the village, suddenly noticed a yellowish spark that appeared in the sky. The glowing dot rapidly increased in size and soon became like a shining ball.
The mysterious object descended over the meadow, sank to the ground and, as it seemed to the young observers, rolled towards the river. The balloon was no more than half a kilometer away. The ball seemed to split, and something like a headless man in a dark robe appeared in the meadow.
It caught my eye that the" hands "of the alien fell below the "knees".
At that moment, the aircraft seemed to disappear into thin air, and its passenger seemed to be heading towards the village of Konantsevo..."
