A man (V.T.), his teenage daughter and her friend were heading to a rural road near Dowling to pick up a second friend. She pointed them to a bright round object motionless above the tree line to the west; she watched it for 20 minutes.
The four drove up to the stop sign near the girl's house and watched the object for a couple of minutes, but there was no movement. They went to the house of the third friend. The girls looked out the back window and saw that an object was following them.
They continued on their way as the object flew very low overhead (100 feet). The body of the object was not visible, but red lights were burning behind and on the sides, green lights were flashing.
They drove onto Highway 144, the object was a little ahead of them. The driver turned off Highway 144 onto another rural route and headed for the farm. The girls got out and went behind the barn, where they watched the object heading to Chelmsford. The man then returned to Highway 144 and headed towards Dowling. The object turned around and started following the car from the passenger side. The driver decided to turn off Highway 144 onto a rural highway. The object also turned and followed him parallel to the right. It was very low, maybe a couple hundred feet. The man turned onto another road, and the object turned again and passed him.
It was dark outside. He pulled over to the side of the road, stopped, turned off the lights and the engine, got out and listened, but without a sound. The UFO was still visible. He continued to catch up with him. And when he turned onto another road, the object turned and stayed a little ahead and to the right of the car. He made two more 90° turns, then flew parallel at a speed of 40 to 65 miles per hour. There were no random movements. The driver pulled into the driveway, got out and listened... still no noise. He said:
"He made a parallel left turn when I turned left into my driveway. I went into the house to get my son to look out of the window upstairs, but he couldn't see it because of the trees. I caught a glimpse of it and it became bright again."
This person recalls that UFO sightings in Michigan and one possible sighting in Sudbury were reported at the time.

The foursome drove to a stop sign near the girl's home, and watched the object for a couple of minutes, but there was no movement. They proceeded down the road to a third friend's home. The girls looked out the back window and saw the object following them. They continued on as the object passed very low overhead (100 feet). The object's body could not be seen, but it had a red light in the rear and on each side, green lights that flickered. They proceeded onto Hwy 144 with the object slightly in front of them. The driver turned off Hwy 144 onto another rural route, and went to a farm. The girls got out and went behind the barn where they watched the object as it headed for Chelmsford. Then the man proceeded back to Hwy 144 and headed towards Dowling. The object turned around and started following the vehicle on the passenger side. The driver decided to turn off Hwy 144 onto a rural route. The object also turned and followed parallel to his right. It was very low, maybe a couple hundred feet. And as he turned onto another road, the object would turn and stayed slightly in front and to the right of the vehicle. It went around another two 90° turns, then flew parallel at speeds between 40 and 65 mph. There were no erratic movements. The driver drove into his driveway, got out and listened...still no noise. He said: 'It made a parallel left turn when I turned left into my driveway. I went into the house to get my son to look out the upstairs window, but he could not see it because of the trees. I caught a glimpse of it, and it had changed back to a bright light.'
The man remembers that at the time, UFO sightings were being reported in Michigan and one possible sighting in Sudbury.
