Initial data
On July 8, 1998, hundreds of locals, pilgrims and tourists witnessed the "miracle" of the sun, which was observed in the area of the monastery of Monte Santo, the monastery of Nossa Senhora de Lourdes and the square of Nossa Senhora do Pranto - The Way of the Cross.
The Portuguese press and TV wrote a lot about this event, but for some reason the media ignored it in the rest of the world. Perhaps because this event was overshadowed by the catastrophe that occurred literally the next day on July 9, 1998.
Then, a powerful earthquake shook the Azores at 05:19 local time. The 6.2 magnitude tremor caused significant damage to the island of Fayal and Corvo. At least 10 people were killed and about 100 injured as a result of the earthquake, and 2,500 people were left homeless.

Illusions associated with the refraction and reflection of light
Reflection is a physical process of interaction of waves or particles with the surface, changing the direction of the wave front at the boundary of two media with different properties, in which the wave front returns into the medium from which it came. The reflection may be specular (that is, such as is observed when using a mirror) or diffuse (in this case, the reflection is not saved the path of the rays from the object, but only the energy component of the luminous flux) depending on the nature of the surface.
Cloud (natural and man-made)
Clouds are the products of condensation of water vapor suspended in the atmosphere, visible in the sky from the surface of the earth. They consist of tiny drops of water and/or ice crystals (called cloud elements).
Investigation
It is quite difficult to say what was meant as a "miracle of the sun". In the video, you can observe the effects associated with the uneven passage of sunlight through clouds and the features of shooting on camera (auto-tuning, etc.).
