The creepy video allegedly shows a humanoid figure looking at a woman standing outside a tent in the middle of the night.
In the clip, which was posted on YouTube by the MrMBB333 channel, a vaguely human figure seems to be lurking in the fork of a large tree. A couple of bright spots are placed where the eyes should be, making people believe that this is really some kind of animal or a distorted person.
There were also people who thought it could be a "cryptid" - a word for creatures that do not have convincing evidence of their existence, such as the bigfoot or the Loch Ness monster.
It was recorded at a campsite in Edenbridge, Kent, at around 3am after a woman came out of a tent to investigate a strange noise and started taking photos at random with her flash to try to capture the creature in the dark.
The YouTuber says:
"Here on the tree you can see something that looks out of place... you can tell it's not a branch, it's not leaves, it's almost shaped like a human torso."
He says the figure can be "open to interpretation" and he doesn't know what it is.
The video has been viewed more than 66,000 times and has sparked controversy that the strange figure was a so-called cryptid or "peeping Tom" on a tree.
One of the viewers commented:
"It really looks like a humanoid, you can see the head, shoulders, arms to the sides, with the knees to the chest in a squatting position."
Someone else shared:
"My colleague claims that he saw a human moth. Around 21:00 no later than 22:00.

Someone else reckoned: "I think she caught a picture of a perverted peeping Tom who was watching her.
"Definitely wearing some time of glasses...maybe even night vision, which explains the eye reflection.
"I don't believe it is a cryptid at all."
