Initial data
A thorough study of the mummy from the San Pedro Mountains is currently impossible. Why? Like countless other significant discoveries and artifacts, it has been lost.
In the summer of 1940, two enterprising gentlemen were searching for gold in the San Pedro Mountains in the U.S. state of Wyoming.
While raking another blockage of rock, the prospectors came across the entrance to a small cave. It was possible to get there only by crawling, but would this be a hindrance for the prospectors?
"What if there's Indian gold inside?". With this thought, the men crawled inside the cave.
But neither gold nor treasures were found in the cave, but they found something more curious - a perfectly preserved mummy of a tiny man. A wrinkled old man, with his legs crossed and his long arms folded on his knees, sat on a small ledge, looking sadly in front of him. With a flattened skull, bulging eyes and dark brown skin, the mummy looked rather strange.
But most of all, its size was striking. The height of the San Pedro mummy in a sitting position did not exceed six and a half inches, that is, a little more than 16 centimeters. And if she could straighten up, then her height would hardly exceed 36 centimeters.
Journalists quickly found out about the find, a photo of the "old man" appeared in a local newspaper, and over time experts began to study the mummy. And their opinions about Pedro (and what else to call a small creature found in the mountains of San Pedro?) immediately separated. Someone immediately considered all this a fake, invented by the gold diggers themselves.
Many considered the photos of the mummy from San Pedro to be a fake. Other "experts" believed in the find, but said that this mummy was not an adult, but an infant. In their opinion, the Indians simply mummified the newborn.
However, there was a third group of commentators, by the way, the most numerous. They considered Pedro to be a grown man, not without reason. Indeed, a more detailed analysis showed that the "baby" has a mouthful of teeth, and besides, he has ominously pointed fangs.
Traces of meat were also found in the stomach of the crumbs, which leads to the obvious question - what kind of meat could the baby eat? And one more important detail: judging by the injuries to the limbs, skull and spine, Pedro's death was caused by violence.
Then the experts recalled the legends of the Shoshone Indian tribe, who once lived in Wyoming, about the Nimerigars - a mysterious "race of dwarfs", "tiny people", "little spirits", as they were also called.
These monsters, as the Indian old men told, lighting their pipes, were small, but great in malice and cunning. For example, they ambushed in the gorges of the Rocky Mountains and shot bows at honest Indians.
Moreover, their arrows were not simple, but with poisoned tips. These tiny people were not averse to resorting to black magic if something happened. In a word, they were harmful - terrible! It is not for nothing that Nimerigars mean "cannibals" in the Shoshone language.
It all looks like fairy tales from grandma's closet, but at the end of the XVIII century, one of the British missionaries in Coshocton, Ohio, stumbled upon a whole cemetery of dwarfs, about which he left a note:
"I saw long rows of graves of little people in Coshocton. They were buried with their heads to the west, where the sun was hiding behind the mountains. And this gave rise to the theory that these people worshipped the sun."
It would be nice to take a look at these amazing burials, but the problem is that now there is not a single cemetery in Koshokton - all the lands have been plowed for unknown reasons for a long time.
And with the mummy from the San Pedro mountains, too, everything is not easy. It would be nice to explore it with modern equipment and learn more about its origin, but... The fact is that Pedro has disappeared.
What happened to the mummy?
For some time, the mummy was in one of the shops in the city of Casper, frightening and at the same time attracting customers. Then it was taken to a local university for further study, after which Pedro was sent to one private collection, then to another, and today the trace of the mummy from the San Pedro mountains has completely disappeared in time and space.
Not only historians, anthropologists and other serious people are looking for him to confirm or deny that Pedro belongs to the "dwarf race". Fans of UFOs and all kinds of "secret materials" are waiting with no less impatience for news about the mummy.
However, when asked who Pedro is, they have already answered for themselves with a high degree of certainty - of course, an alien from outer space. Because only aliens can have such an appearance.

Mutations
Mutation (from the Latin. mutatio – change, change) - suddenly there is a natural (spontaneous) or artificially caused (induced) persistent changes in genetic structures of living matter responsible for the storage and transfer of genetic information.
The process of emergence of mutations is called mutagenesis.
Mutations are divided into spontaneous and induced.
