Incident date:
United Kingdom

In the autumn of 2021, during an evening walk with her dog, an elderly Englishwoman photographed a creature on a tree.

When about 300 meters remained to the meeting place with the mysterious creature, her pet whined, trembled and refused to go any further. But the woman took the dog in her arms and continued on her way.

At some point, the animal's behavior got out of control. It broke free and ran away. At that moment, the woman heard a strange low hiss from above and looked at the nearby trees. There was a creature sitting in the crown of one of them.

Speechless with fear, the woman pointed her phone at the creature and took a picture. After that, the creature, jumping from tree to tree, quickly disappeared from sight. When the woman told her neighbors and relatives about the incident the next day, they did not believe her, but when they saw the photo, all doubts of skeptics disappeared.

Then she was prompted to seek help from MUFON. This organization specializes in psychological assistance to residents of England affected by ghosts, poltergeists and aliens. In addition, various cases of manifestations of the unknown are being investigated.

Experts of the organization reacted to this issue with surprise. According to the woman, the details of the incident were recorded. Here 's how a Manchester resident described the creature:

"It was a pleasant autumn evening for a walk. The clock showed around 21:40 when the meeting took place. Musi (that was the dog's name) was very scared of something, but I picked him up and we continued walking. At some point, he became uncontrollable and, breaking out of my hands, rushed back to the house. Then I heard a hiss.

"My first thought was a giant snake, but where in Manchester could it have come from? And when I looked at the crown of the tree and saw pale eyes without pupils, I felt incredibly scared myself."

"In a state of stupor, I automatically took out my phone and took a picture of this terrible creature. Then it sped off with quick leaps from tree to tree. It seemed to me that his fur was completely black, except for the one on his head, it was white."

"But I only noticed the eyes-they had no pupils. It felt like two flashlights were boring right through me."

Later, the Englishwoman remembered a few more details:

"Maybe it seemed to me, but I saw long rounded claws on the front paws of this animal, and it also did not have a tail. It seems so to me, but I was in shock and may have confused something."

Two days later, the woman took two researchers with her to the park, who carefully examined the place of the mysterious meeting.

There were quite deep claw marks on the bark of the tree. They were probably left by this creature.

The option of a cat or a monkey running away from someone was immediately ruled out. They don't have claws like that. Who was the creature that so frightened the Englishwoman is unknown.

Folklorists believe that it could be a kind of witch Bruch. This cryptid is a flying creature that lives not only in England, but also in Wales, Mexico, USA, Canada, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Puerto Rico and Ireland.

Experts are still debating whether the belly witch is the famous Flatwood monster or not. And if so, is it possible to say that this particular creature was captured in a photograph by an Englishwoman?

After the incident, a survey was conducted among local residents: has anyone else seen something like this? It turned out that a gentleman sitting on a bench in the next street in the evening noticed a creature running away quickly.

But even taking into account his testimony, there is very little information about the creature, so it is extremely difficult to find out its nature of origin.

In addition to the assumption about the witch Bruja, there is a version that this is some kind of mutant from the famous sewer network near Manchester, about which there are a variety of legends and rumors.

And there is an opinion that the Englishwoman captured a real alien. However, it is impossible to say anything with certainty in this case.

Pareidolic illusion

A variety of visual illusions (the so-called "sensory illusions additions"); is the formation of illusory images, as a basis which are the details of the real object. Thus, the vague and obscure the visual image is perceived as something distinct and defined — for example, figures of people and animals in the clouds, the image of a man on the moon, "a hidden message", audible when you reverse the audio recordings, the shadows formed by leaves or complexes of objects in certain lighting (sometimes at a certain angle).
