The message of Bystrova V.P. about the observation of an unusual phenomenon in Leningrad:

Recently I read an article in the newspaper "Trud" "Exactly at 4.10" and I was struck by the similarity with one phenomenon that I observed approximately in late July-early August 1984 (I don't remember a more precise date).

I live on the 7th floor, the windows face east, there are no buildings nearby and it was possible to observe that in the evening, at the same time, a large passenger plane began to fly at the same time, obviously according to an additional flight schedule, because I hadn't noticed it before. On one of the weekdays in the late afternoon (about 18 hours), this plane flies by. The weather was not bad: partly cloudy, light wind. and suddenly, behind the plane, further and somewhat higher, parallel to the route of its flights, a wide fiery yellow stripe rolled out of the clouds in the form of an irregular rectangle (an elongated rectangle). In the first moments there was a feeling that a certain embrasure appeared in the sky, glowing from the inside with a fiery light and approaching the plane. I was surprised, the thought flashed that maybe a war had started and a big explosion was about to happen, because this fire was directed at the plane. But the strip quickly stopped, as if hovering in space against the background of a cloud-free area of the sky, at an angle of 40-45 degrees to the horizon. The plane, meanwhile, continued its flight (apparently at a respectful distance, because the hum of the engines was not heard) and apparently did not experience any impact.

The object was located in the northeast, and the sun was in the western part of the sky, its smooth surface shone with a bright uniform color. The strip had rather contrasting contours and was subjectively perceived as something material. The apparent dimensions (the base, which by the way was parallel to the earth's surface) of the object were about 1.5-2 diameters of the moon at the zenith.

Suddenly, a thin ray of light appeared from the left edge of the strip, the same golden-blinding color as the strip.With a very high speed, drilling space, he began to move forward in spirals. From it, "splashes" thin as fibers flew off to the sides (up, down, in the direction of movement). They appeared along the entire length of the beam, changing in size to its tip. I don't remember exactly, but it seems. the spiral twisted clockwise.

Having gone about the visible length of the strip, the beam without any pause began to contract in the opposite direction, along the same spiral. At the same time, the "splashes" were extinguished. The spiral disappeared and immediately two glowing triangles appeared and flashed along the edges of the strip on the left and right, apparently first on the left. At first, they seemed brighter to me than the main object. The triangles quickly went out and after that the object disappeared. The plane also flew by.

All this lasted 1.5-2 minutes, but I saw everything clearly, and to admit, I was overcome by some kind of confusion. the movement of the lanes was completely unnoticed, but the movement of the drilling beam suggested that some kind of system was moving, vaguely resembling the reflection of an airplane in the distance or a rocket. In general, the system has shifted, as it seemed to me, to the left.

During the observation, the size of the object and its brightness have not changed much. As for the feeling of distance, the object was far away from the observer.

In recent days, I have not paid attention to whether this additional plane has flown. Such an observation is the first time.
