Initial data
Vladimir Svetin writes to the Commission on the:
I read an article in the "Labor" of January 30, 85 about an incomprehensible phenomenon, I will tell you something similar.
It happened on September 7, 1984 at about 4 o'clock in the morning with absolutely cloudless sky.
Suddenly, a spot of fiery yellow appeared in the north, similar to the light of a dim burning searchlight. It seemed to us that it was flying straight at us, descending. I remember joking: One of the women working in the field, understanding this literally, made movements similar to attempts to escape, to hide. The impression that he was flying at us was obvious. The spot (from the moment of detection) moved towards us for 10-15 seconds, and then abruptly went up and disappeared after 3-5 seconds.
At the moment of disappearance, the entire firmament was illuminated by concentric rings, dimmer to the periphery. Immediately, a round glowing spot of bright emerald-green color was formed (approximately the color of water in the Barents Sea in sunny weather). the spot gradually faded and blurred, acquiring an increasingly indeterminate shape, increasing in size. Eventually it turned into a dimly glowing cirrus-cumulus cloud. The firmament and the cloud shone until sunrise.
Besides me, at least four other people who worked the night shift saw it.
Hypotheses
Booster, the rocket and tracks
For UFOs often take stages of rockets, parts of space ships burning in the atmosphere, the launches of various missile technology for military purposes, etc., and traces from them. They attract attention mostly in the dark, but in the day time have a greater aura of mystery.
Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
