A letter from M.N. Kuznetsov, who observed an interesting phenomenon in January 1985 in the district of Yazykovo, Ulyanovsk region:

In the newspaper "Ulyanovsk Pravda" it was published about who saw in January of this year, I do not remember what date. There was something like a star in the sky, a circle radiated from it. Yes, I saw it. It was between 7 and 6 o'clock in the evening, I went for a little walk down the street and began to reach the park and it seemed to me that something suddenly became light. When I looked at the sky and saw something of a star, a circle quickly began to diverge from it, I watched it, and when the circle began to diverge more, and the star began to hide in some kind of cloud of black smoke and completely disappeared. And only a large spot of this black smoke remained noticeable, and the star completely disappeared to no one knows where. I was surprised by this, I saw it for the first time in my life. When I returned home quickly to tell my family when we left, the circle was already barely noticeable. It spread all over the sky, and the black spot also spread very large.
