We read the article "Exactly at 4.10". We observed a similar phenomenon in our city of Arkhangelsk about 2 months ago (date of the letter 06.02.85) between 18 and 19 pm. A bright round spot suddenly appeared in the dark sky and behind it a bright light cone, like a searchlight. This phenomenon was slowly moving parallel to the Earth.
After a certain period of time, it turned sharply upwards, slightly at an obtuse angle. The "tail" disappeared. there was a bright spot that was being removed. Then the "dot" flashed, disappeared and a cloud of indeterminate shape appeared. Then this cloud took the form of a huge "comma". Gradually, the "comma" blurred, paled, then completely disappeared. This phenomenon at the end resembled the northern lights.

Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
