I read a note in the newspaper "Trud" from 30 .01.85 "exactly at 4.10". I want to respond to this, because among the numerous residents of the village Zavolzhye (east of Yaroslavl on 4 ka) observed a similar phenomenon.

25 (26 I find it difficult) 12.84 at 17-33 in frosty weather (-17 degrees) with a clear starry sky and a full moon, a bright flash of dark blue color occurred in the southeastern part of the sky at an angle of about 40 degrees to the horizon (just below the moon and 10-15 degrees to the left). A blue glow continued to emanate from the flash point, spreading like a sphere (dome). After a few seconds, a yellow "star" appeared in the place of the flash, slightly larger in diameter than the brightest star (maybe a planet) in the sky (slightly to the right of the moon), and also about 2 times brighter than this star (planet), then another yellow "star" (to the right of the first and slightly lower) became visible nearby, it was dimmer. Then an emerald-green-blue cloud in the shape of a diamond (slightly sideways) separated from these two "stars" to the right about 1.5 times the diameter of the Moon, very quickly moving away from the yellow "stars" by about 2"bodies" instantly stopped and shone brightly (but dimmer than the Moon). When the arc of blue glow (about a decameter thick of the moon) occupied the entire eastern part of the sky (moving from its center, it dimmed), the "rhombus" began to dim simultaneously with the "yellow stars" and became invisible, the blue "arc" disappeared. Unfortunately, there were no bright visible stars behind the projection of the "rhombus", so I can't talk about its density.

The whole phenomenon lasted 3-3.5 minutes. I want to emphasize:

1) the strangeness of the spectacle in beauty and colors

2) since the flash, the yellow "stars" have been clearly fixed in one place

3) the blue "arc" with its ends did not fall below the level of the yellow stars

4) the "rhombus" became visible gradually (almost instantly) moving away from the "stars" and without affecting their brightness

5) the rhombus instantly stopped and fixed on the sky, it seemed to be lying slightly on the ground and on its two sides (facing the observer) a darker edge was clearly visible, as if emphasizing its thickness

I assume that the increase in the diameter of the blue arc (i.e. its movement) can be explained by a uniform increase in the brightness of the yellow star," (but unfortunately I did not pay attention to the brightness measurement at that moment, and the brightness could only change in the upper part of the "star", but the "arc" began to dim simultaneously with its "stars".

And another thing: the flash was instantaneous, it is impossible to judge her worm.
