Initial data
Gusev Vladimir Viktorovich writes to the Commission on the:
On July 27, 1985, I witnessed a very interesting phenomenon. Beginning at 24-45 minutes, a huge glowing ball silently appeared in the eastern country of the firmament. it was shrouded in a luminous haze and was similar in color and brightness to the moon. At the beginning, the ball was moving towards us, then it stopped smoothly. At this moment, the angle of elevation above the horizon was approximately 45 degrees. For some moments he remained in place, then he began to climb up. Its trajectory was approximately 60-70 degrees towards the south. After three minutes of lifting, another smaller ball separated from this ball and began to rise higher along the same trajectory. The first ball was moving behind him, but more slowly. Then he froze in place and began to descend. During the descent, the glow decreased and then the glowing core turned into a small point from which rays of light went up and down. On the approach to the earth, the core got into a haze and dissolved. The second balloon from the moment of separation rose for another 5 minutes, but much slower. It was also shrouded in a luminous haze and halo. After 5 minutes, the third ball separated from him and also began to rise up. It was visible for about 10 minutes until it completely melted. The impression was that he had gone to the stars. The flight took place very smoothly and without the slightest noise. The second ball after the separation was lowered in the same way as the first one. At the moment of the appearance of the first ball, very low above the horizon, among a few clouds, it shone very brightly.
It glowed for more than an hour without changing brightness. Then he was lifted to other clouds and they in turn lit up. The glow was very bright, compared to the moon at the zenith.
Besides me, three other people watched the flight. I counted down the time by the clock. The brightness was such that it would be possible to be photographed at an aperture of 2.8 or 4 at a shutter speed of 30 with a film of 65 GOST units
Unfortunately, there was no camera. I couldn't write a letter right away because I didn't have the address of the commission.
Hypotheses
Booster, the rocket and tracks
For UFOs often take stages of rockets, parts of space ships burning in the atmosphere, the launches of various missile technology for military purposes, etc., and traces from them. They attract attention mostly in the dark, but in the day time have a greater aura of mystery.
Formation of the track of the launch vehicle occurs in the tropopause (the layer between the troposphere and stratosphere), which sharply reduced the vertical temperature gradient. The emergence of the so-called "jellyfish" influenced by water vapor, which are subject to enhanced condensation.
